Grilled peanut butter and apple sandwiches - a delicious, easy lunch or snack option.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 teaspoon white sugar
  • 8 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 8 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 large Gala apple, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
Instructions:
  • Combine the warm spice of cinnamon with the sweetness of sugar in a small bowl.
  • Generously smear a tablespoon of creamy peanut butter onto each piece of bread.
  • Lay out apple slices on half of the bread slices. Evenly sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over the apples. Place the remaining bread slices on top of the apples with the peanut butter side facing down.
  • In a generously sized skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Toast sandwiches in the skillet until they turn golden brown, flipping once, for 1 to 2 minutes per side, working in batches if needed.
