Grilled cabbage "steaks" - Sweet, smoky, crispy edges. Unmatched flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 0.25 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 medium head cabbage
Instructions:
  • Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate. In a bowl, combine oil, vinegar, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper, and whisk together.
  • Prepare the cabbage by removing any loose outer leaves and trimming the stem to sit flat on a cutting board. Cut the cabbage vertically into six 3/4-inch-thick "steaks" and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Coat one side of the steaks with the flavorful oil mixture.
  • Lay the steaks on the grill, seasoned side facing down. Cook with the lid closed for 5 minutes. Brush with more oil mixture, carefully turn over, and grill with the lid closed until tender-crisp and lightly charred, for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a platter and drizzle with any leftover oil mixture.
