Grilled Shrimp and Sausage Kabobs

Spicy Cajun kabobs with andouille sausage, shrimp, and sweet honey glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 lb. smoked sausage (andouille, Polish sausage or kielbasa), cut into 12 pieces
  • 1/2 lb. shelled deveined uncooked large shrimp
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, cut into 12 pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat the gas or charcoal grill. Mix chili sauce, honey, and garlic powder in a small bowl until well combined. Skewer sausage, shrimp, and bell pepper onto four 12 to 14-inch metal skewers in an alternating pattern. Brush the kabobs with some of the chili sauce mixture, saving the rest for later.
  • Place the kabobs on a preheated grill, whether gas or charcoal, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until the shrimp turn pink. Remember to rotate the kabobs and brush them frequently with the sauce mixture.
  • Bring the remaining chili sauce mixture to a boil and serve it warm with the kabobs.
