Impress loved ones with Grilled Onion Flowers - a tangy delight!
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium onions (4 to 5 ounces each)
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic or cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup seasoned croutons, crushed
Instructions:
  • Prepare the grill for direct heat. Peel the onions, leaving the root end intact. Cut each onion from the top into 8 wedges, being careful not to cut all the way through the root end. Gently separate the wedges.
  • 1. Oil four 18x12-inch pieces of heavy-duty foil. 2. Put 1 onion on each square and shape foil loosely around it. 3. Sprinkle onions with vinegar, oregano, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. 4. Wrap foil securely around the onions.
  • Grill onions over medium heat until very tender, about 50 to 60 minutes. Serve sprinkled with croutons.
