Uncover the key to juicy and delicious grilled turkey breast.
Ingredients:
  • 2-pound boneless turkey breast half with untorn skin
  • 1 small lemon, thinly sliced
  • 10 fresh basil leaves
  • Olive or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
Instructions:
  • For a charcoal grill, position the drip pan under the grilling area and surround the coals along the firebox's edge. Prepare the coals or gas grill for indirect heat. Gently loosen the turkey skin in 4 or 5 spots and delicately slide in lemon slices and basil leaves. Massage the turkey skin with oil and season with lemon-pepper. Insert a barbecue meat thermometer ensuring the tip is at the turkey's thickest part.
  • Grill the turkey, skin side down, over medium heat for 20 minutes. Flip it and continue grilling for another 35 to 45 minutes until the thermometer reads 170°F and the juices run clear when the center is cut.
  • Take the juicy turkey off the grill, cover it with a tempting foil tent, and allow it to rest for 10 minutes. Finally, carefully slice the flavorful turkey.
