Tender corned beef braised in Guinness and brown sugar for a melt-in-your-mouth St. Patrick's Day delight.
Ingredients:
  • 4 pounds corned beef brisket
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle Irish stout beer (e.g. Guinness(r))
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) for a perfect cooking environment.
  • Wash brisket well, then dry it gently using paper towels before placing it on a rack in a roasting pan or Dutch oven. Massage brown sugar onto the brisket, then pour beer around and over it to moisten the sugar.
  • Roast the brisket covered in the oven at the set temperature until tender, approximately 2 ½ hours. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the center reaches at least 190 degrees F (88 degrees C). Rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
