Scare up some fun with our spooky Halloween bat cupcakes made with decadent chocolate cake, fluffy icing, and cookie accents. A festive and easy activity for kids, and a hit with both little goblins and grown-ups alike. Perfect for parties or handing out as tasty treats.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Dark Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup Oreo mini chocolate creme sandwich cookies, crushed
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • 24 thin chocolate wafer cookies, broken in half
  • 24 Oreo mini chocolate creme sandwich cookies
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Cookie Icing white icing (from 7-oz pouch)
  • 48 candy eyes
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups.
  • In a large bowl, mix cake mix, buttermilk, oil, and eggs with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed for 2 minutes. Fold in crushed cookies and evenly spoon batter into muffin cups.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans onto cooling racks. Allow it to cool completely.
  • Top frosted cupcakes with chocolate wafer cookie pieces on each side to resemble bat wings. Add a miniature sandwich cookie between the wings for the body. Decorate with two small dots of white icing on each cookie, then attach candy eyes. Enjoy your bat-inspired treats!
