Create a spooktacular Frankenstein cake for Halloween that's monstrously delicious yet easy to make with simple icing details - sure to be a hit at your celebration!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Creamy White Frosting
  • Black food color
  • Betty Crocker™ green neon gel food color
  • Betty Crocker™ black decorating icing (from 4.25-oz tube)
  • 2 pieces black string licorice (5 to 6 inch)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 325°F for a dark or nonstick pan) and prepare the cake batter according to the instructions on the box for a 13x9-inch pan. Bake as directed. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then gently run a knife around the sides of the pan to release the cake onto a cooling rack. Allow the cake to cool completely, approximately 1 hour.
  • Place the cake, top side down, on a stylish platter or a foil-covered cookie sheet. Scoop out 2 tablespoons of white frosting and keep it aside. Transfer one-third of the frosting (approximately 1/2 cup) to a small bowl and tint it black. Tint the rest of the frosting neon green and generously frost the cake on all sides with the vibrant green frosting.
  • Follow the picture as a guide to outline the hair using decorating icing with a round tip. Place licorice pieces for eyebrows. Use the reserved white frosting to create eyes. Outline the rest of the facial features with icing. Fill in the hair by spreading black frosting within the outlines. Store covered loosely.
