Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 cups uncooked ziti pasta (9 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups shredded Colby cheese (8 ounces)
  • 4 ounces sliced cooked deli ham, cut into thin strips
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F, then prepare pasta according to package instructions.
  • While the pasta cooks, gently melt butter in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat. Saute garlic in butter for 30 seconds, stirring often. Add flour and salt, stirring constantly over medium heat until the mixture is smooth and bubbly. Slowly pour in the milk, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Add mustard and Colby cheese, cook and stir occasionally until the cheese is melted.
  • Mix the pasta and ham into the creamy cheese sauce, then transfer everything to a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with Parmesan cheese and bake without a cover for 20-25 minutes until it's bubbling hot.
