Juicy hamburger patties covered in rich gravy and onions – a delicious twist on a classic dish using simple ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.25 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cooking sherry
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your fresh and flavorful ingredients.
  • Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper in a large bowl. Shape mixture into 8 patties.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm oil. Cook patties and onion until patties are golden brown on each side, about 4 minutes. Transfer beef patties to a plate to keep warm.
  • Gently dust flour over caramelized onions and savory drippings in the skillet. Blend in the flour using a fork, loosening up the flavorful beef bits stuck to the bottom. Slowly pour in beef broth and sherry, then season with seasoned salt. Let it simmer and blend over medium-low heat until the gravy beautifully thickens, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Lower the heat, add the patties back to the gravy, cover, and let them simmer until fully cooked for approximately 15 minutes.
