Cozy up with hearty cabbage hamburger soup - simply brown beef, add ingredients, and let simmer for a comforting meal on chilly nights.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon
  • salt to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large soup pot over medium-high heat, brown and crumble ground beef until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Drain excess grease. Add bell pepper, onion, and celery; cook and stir for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Turn up the heat to high. Toss in kidney beans, tomatoes, cabbage, beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, bouillon, and garlic. Give it a good stir. Let it come to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Serve piping hot soup in individual bowls, then perfect the flavors with a sprinkle of salt.
