Hawaiian bacon pizza with caramelized pineapple, red onion, and melted mozzarella is a flavor bomb!
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for pan
  • 2 slices applewood-smoked bacon
  • 4 canned pineapple rings
  • 1 pound fresh pizza dough, at room temperature
  • 0.5 cup pizza sauce (from 1 [14-oz.] jar)
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) pre-shredded whole-milk mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 3 ounces Canadian bacon (about 4 slices), cut into 1-in. triangles
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) with a rack on the lower level and generously oil a large, rimmed baking sheet with olive oil.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook bacon until golden brown and crisp, flipping occasionally, about 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Drain the pan drippings without cleaning the pan, then place it back on the heat. Cook the pineapple until it's beautifully caramelized and golden, about 3 minutes per side. Take the pineapple out of the pan, and chop up the bacon and the pineapple rings into 3/4-inch chunks.
  • Roll out dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface and transfer to an oiled baking sheet. Poke the dough using a fork to remove air bubbles. Spread pizza sauce, leaving a border. Top with cheese, red onion, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and bacon.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, toppings are lightly charred, and crust is golden brown, for 10 to 15 minutes. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
