Indulge in these rich lava cakes - a chocolate lover's dream!
Ingredients:
  • 5 ounces semisweet or bittersweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • Additional powdered sugar, if desired
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Grease six 6-ounce custard cups with shortening. In a 2-quart saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Allow to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and egg yolks until smooth. Add 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and mix well. Stir in melted chocolate mixture and flour until combined. Spoon the batter evenly into custard cups.
  • Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until sides are set and cakes are soft in the center. Run a knife or spatula along the sides to loosen. Flip onto plates, remove cups, dust with powdered sugar, top with pie filling, and serve warm.
