Tangy cranberries and sweet apples stewed in pumpkin-spiced orange juice create a versatile compote for turkey, ham, or dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 3 medium Fuji apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, blend orange juice, apples, cranberries, white sugar, brown sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Bring to a boil, then simmer until apples are tender and sauce slightly thickens, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Pour the sauce into a dish and gently mix in the softened butter. Chill in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours to allow the sauce to thicken further.
