Festive holiday bread with tangy flavors and nutty goodness - perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 0.75 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 1.5 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl. Add butter and mix until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  • Whisk together egg, orange juice, and orange zest in a small bowl. Mix into the dry ingredients. Add cranberries and walnuts. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
  • Place in the oven already preheated, bake for 65 to 70 minutes until a wooden toothpick at the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
