Holiday Ornament Cupcakes

Create festive Christmas ornament cupcakes using Betty Crocker Super Moist cake mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake box
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 24 small candy canes
  • Red and green jelly beans
  • Red cinnamon candies
  • Red string licorice
  • Red and green candy-coated chocolate-covered sunflower seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups or spray them with cooking spray.
  • Prepare and bake cupcakes following the instructions on the box using water, oil, and egg whites. Allow the cupcakes to cool for 10 minutes before transferring them from the pans to cooling racks. Let them cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Combine powdered sugar and butter in a large bowl using a spoon or electric mixer on low speed. Add vanilla and 3 tablespoons of milk. Gradually incorporate more milk until frosting reaches a smooth and spreadable consistency. Generously frost cupcakes.
  • Decorate cupcakes with assorted candies to create unique ornament designs, using the top of a candy cane as a hook for each cupcake.
