Festive cookie press cookies, loved by all for decorating and devouring during the holidays.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large egg
  • 2.3333332538605 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 8 drops green food color
  • 1 (12 ounce) container Pillsbury® Funfetti® Garland Green Vanilla Flavored Frosting
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a medium bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined. In a large bowl, cream together shortening, butter, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer on medium speed. Add egg, almond extract, and food color, then gradually mix in the flour mixture until well blended.
  • Prepare the cookie press with the festive plate of your choice following the manufacturer's guidance. Load the cookie press as indicated. Press the dough onto baking sheets without greasing them. Bake for 6 to 7 minutes or until firm but not golden. Allow them to cool for 1 minute on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool thoroughly.
  • 1. Soften the frosting by placing it in a large heavy-duty resealable plastic bag and microwaving on HIGH for 20 to 30 seconds. 2. Massage the bag to ensure the frosting is smooth. 3. Snip a very small corner off the bag to create a makeshift piping bag. 4. Drizzle the softened frosting over the cookies in a decorative pattern. 5. Transfer the candy bits from the frosting to a medium bowl. 6. Hold each cookie over the bowl and sprinkle it with the candy bits. 7. Allow the frosting to set for 15 minutes before serving.
