Homemade Apple Cake

Quick and effortless Homemade Apple Cake with cinnamon, apples, and walnuts, perfect for fall. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. A family favorite in no time!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded peeled apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 quart vanilla or cinnamon ice cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and generously coat a 9-inch round cake pan with baking spray that includes flour.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Fold in apples and walnuts. Transfer the batter to the pan.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, for about 40-45 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan to a cooling rack. Serve warm with ice cream.
