Total Time:
Irresistibly soft and chewy homemade chocolate sandwich cookies - perfect for dunking in cold milk!
Ingredients:
  • 2 (18.25 ounce) packages devil's food cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup shortening
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Combine the listed ingredients using a pastry blender until well incorporated.
  • Roll the mixture into quarter-sized balls and place them on ungreased baking sheets. Ensure you make an even number of balls.
  • Bake the cookies for 10 minutes. Allow them to rest on the sheet for 5-6 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack for extra crispiness. Once cooled, sandwich a dollop of Cream Cheese Frosting or one can of store-bought between two cookies, bottom sides together.
  • Feel free to mix in chopped pecans before baking the cookies solo rather than sandwiching them. If you prefer, you can substitute spice cake mix for Devil's food.
