Crispy seasoned fries coated in homemade batter with garlic and paprika for a crowd-pleasing snack.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 pounds russet potatoes, peeled
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup water, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Cut potatoes into French fries and soak in a large bowl of cold water to keep them fresh.
  • Begin by gently heating the oil in a sturdy saucepan or large skillet until it reaches a precise temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • As the oil warms up, combine flour, garlic salt, onion salt, paprika, and salt in a large bowl. Slowly add water until a slightly thick batter forms, which should easily drizzle from a spoon.
  • After draining and drying the fries, coat each one individually in the batter.
  • Gently add fries to the hot oil in batches to avoid them sticking together. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy all around, for approximately 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Place fries on a paper towel-covered plate to absorb excess oil.
  • Serve the dish piping hot and savor every mouthful!
