Succulent sausage rolls filled with savory pork, egg, garlic, and breadcrumbs.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1.6666667461395 cups cold pastry flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup cold water
  • 0.5 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 0.25 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs, divided
  • 1.5 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions:
  • Create the dough by pulsing cold flour and 1/4 of the cold butter cubes in a food processor until it looks like coarse meal. Then add the rest of the butter and pulse until pea-sized pieces form. Slowly pour in cold water while processing until a loose, ragged dough comes together.
  • Sandwich the dough between two sheets of waxed paper to create a smooth surface. Roll it out into a rectangle shape, then slice it into three equal strips.
  • Prepare the filling by combining pork sausage, bread crumbs, one egg, garlic, and onion powder in a bowl until thoroughly mixed. Spread 1/3 of the filling onto each piece of dough and roll them into logs. Chill the logs in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before proceeding.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and beat the remaining egg in a small bowl.
  • Cut the logs into 1-inch pieces, place them seam-side down on a baking sheet, and brush them with egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake in the oven until beautifully golden, about 15 to 20 minutes.
