Satisfy burger cravings with a homemade twist!
Ingredients:
  • 600g beef mince
  • 1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 5.90 gm dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 35g breadcrumbs
  • 25g parmesan
  • 2 red capsicums, quartered
  • 36.80 gm sunflower oil
  • 4 burger buns, split, toasted
  • Butter lettuce leaves, to serve
  • Tomato, sliced, to serve
  • Gherkins, to serve
  • Aioli, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together mince, chilli, onion, oregano, Dijon mustard, egg, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese. Season the mixture, gently mix with damp hands, then shape into 4 patties. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill to high, then grill the capsicum skin-side up until it blisters and blackens (3-4 minutes). Transfer the capsicum to a plastic bag and let it sit for 15 minutes. Peel off and discard the skin, then slice the capsicum into strips once it's cool enough to handle.
  • Heat a frypan over medium-high heat. Brush the burger patties with oil and cook for 5 minutes on each side until they are cooked through.
  • Assemble buns by layering lettuce, patties, grilled capsicum, tomato, gherkins, and aioli.
