Indulge in irresistible homemade potato chips: crispy, golden perfection with a heavenly aroma. Customize with your choice of oil and salt level.
Ingredients:
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced paper-thin
  • 3 tablespoons salt, plus more to taste
  • 1 quart oil for deep frying
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your ingredients.
  • As you slice the potatoes, place them into a large bowl of cold water.
  • Drain and rinse slices under cold water. Refill the bowl with water, sprinkle in 3 tablespoons of salt, and return slices to soak for a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Thoroughly rinse the slices once more and gently pat them dry.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer to 365°F (185°C).
  • Fry potato slices in batches until golden brown, then transfer to paper towels to drain. Repeat until all slices are fried.
  • Sprinkle potato chips with a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor to your liking.
