Foolproof holiday bird recipe for a delicious and golden-brown finish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 pound) whole turkey
  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons chicken bouillon
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons seasoning salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then rinse and clean the turkey. Remove the giblets, unless they are a favorite, in which case you can add them to the pan.
  • Prepare the turkey by gently creating pockets between the skin and breast meat. Place 3 tablespoons of butter evenly on both sides. This technique ensures moist and flavorful breast meat.
  • Combine water and bouillon in a medium bowl, then stir in parsley and minced onion. Pour the mixture over the turkey and sprinkle seasoning salt on top.
  • Cover the turkey with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours until it reaches an internal temperature of 180°F (80°C). Uncover for the last 45 minutes to brown nicely.
