Honey-infused artisan bread for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup warm water
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 0.75 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast until dissolved and creamy. Mix in warm milk, honey, oil, salt, and 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour until well blended. Incorporate whole wheat flour and continue mixing. Gradually add the remaining all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft, workable dough forms (there may be some flour left).
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead till smooth and elastic for 6 to 8 minutes. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, coat the top with oil, cover with a damp cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm spot until it doubles in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Deflate the dough and place it on a floured surface. Shape the dough into a loaf and transfer it to the pan. Cover and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, approximately 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Bake in the oven until the top is golden brown and the bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped, about 35 minutes. Remove the loaf from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
