Indulge in a festive clove-studded ham with a delightful honey-mustard glaze for the perfect holiday feast.
Ingredients:
  • 6 to 8 pounds fully cooked smoked bone-in ham
  • Whole cloves, if desired
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
Instructions:
  • Place the ham, with the fat side facing up, on a roasting rack. Insert a meat thermometer into the surface of the ham at a slight angle or through the end of the ham so the tip is in the center of the thickest part without touching the bone or fat.
  • Roast in a 325°F oven for 12 to 16 minutes per pound until the thermometer reads 120°F.
  • Take the ham out of the oven and carefully pour the pan drippings. Remove any skin from the ham, then lightly score the fat surface of the ham into uniform diamond shapes before inserting a whole clove into each diamond.
  • Combine the honey, mustard, and ground cloves to create a flavorful glaze, then generously brush it on the ham. Continue roasting uncovered until the internal temperature reaches 135°F, approximately 20 minutes more.
  • Cover the ham with a shiny blanket of aluminum foil and allow it to rest for around 10 minutes, or until a thermometer shows 140°F.
