Spicy hot pepper jelly recipe yields 6 jars, perfect for gifting. Enjoy this fiery-sweet jelly on crackers with cream cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups finely chopped red bell peppers
  • 1.25 cups finely chopped green bell peppers
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped jalapeno peppers
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 (1.75 ounce) package powdered pectin
  • 5 cups white sugar
Instructions:
  • Sterilize six 8-ounce canning jars and lids following the manufacturer's guidance. Heat water in a hot water canner.
  • In a large saucepan over high heat, combine bell peppers and jalapeño peppers with vinegar and fruit pectin. Bring mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly. Add sugar and continue to boil while stirring constantly. Let it boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and skim off any foam that forms.
  • Efficiently transfer the jelly into clean jars, leaving a 1/4-inch space at the top. Seal tightly with lids and rings.
  • Carefully position the jars in the canner and gently submerge them. Ensure the water completely covers the jars and is hot but not boiling. Bring the water to a boil, cover the canner, and cook for 5 minutes.
