Delicious summer huckleberry crisp with sweet fruit and spiced oat topping.
Ingredients:
  • 6 cups huckleberries
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 1.3333333730698 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 0.66666668653488 cup melted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Prepare the filling by combining huckleberries and lemon juice in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon until fully blended, then pour over the huckleberries. Toss until the berries are evenly coated, then transfer the filling into the prepared pan.
  • Prepare the topping by combining brown sugar, flour, oats, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a bowl until well blended. Gradually mix in the butter until clumps start to form. Spread the topping evenly over the filling.
  • Bake until golden brown in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
