Revolutionize your sushi game with inside-out rolls.
Ingredients:
  • 2 nori sheets*
  • Splash of rice vinegar
  • 600.00 gm cooked sushi rice
  • 12.00 gm (black* and white) sesame seeds, roasted
  • 20.00 ml wasabi*
  • 1 avocado, peeled, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 red capsicum, seeded, cut into thin strips
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) Japanese soy sauce
Instructions:
  • Take each nori sheet and cut them in half lengthwise. Place one half on a bamboo mat or non-stick baking paper with the longest side closest to you. Mix cold water with rice vinegar in a bowl. Dip your hands in the mixture and use them to spread a quarter of the rice evenly over the nori. Sprinkle a quarter of the sesame seeds over the rice, then cover it with a large piece of plastic wrap.
  • Gently flip the rice and nori stack so that the nori is facing upwards. Place a bamboo mat under plastic wrap.
  • Lay out a pinch of wasabi, strips of avocado, and capsicum evenly in the center of the nori sheet. Lift the long edge of the bamboo mat and plastic wrap closest to you using your index fingers and thumbs.
  • Secure fillings in the wrap by gently folding over the edges with your fingers.
  • Place the mat and plastic wrap on a flat surface. Roll the mat tightly over the fillings, wrapping the rice and nori around them. Gently press and finish rolling to form the sushi. Shape and seal the roll using the mat, then unwrap and remove it. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Slice each roll into 8 pieces using a sharp knife wiped clean after each cut. Serve with extra wasabi and soy sauce on the side.
