Effortlessly prepare Asian teriyaki beef and brown rice using Instant Pot® and pressure cooker.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup soy sauce
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 2 cups uncooked brown rice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.5 pounds boneless round steak, sliced into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 green onions, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a 4-quart pressure cooker, mix 2 1/2 cups water and brown rice. Seal the cooker tightly and set up the pressure regulator as per the manufacturer's directions. Bring to a boil until you hear a steady whistling sound of steam. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for about 22 minutes until the rice is tender. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 to 10 minutes following the manufacturer's guidelines. Unlock the lid and remove before serving.
  • Heat up a 6-quart multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) on Saute function with some oil. Brown the steak and onion in the hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Whisk together 1/2 cup water, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl. Pour the mixture over the browned steak. Seal the lid, switch to high pressure following the manufacturer's instructions, and set the timer for 11 minutes. Let the pressure build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Carefully release pressure using the quick-release method following the manufacturer's instructions for about 5 minutes. Then, unlock and remove the lid.
  • Drizzle in the sweet honey, then whisk together 3 tablespoons of water with cornstarch in a small bowl before pouring it into the Instant Pot® along with the fresh broccoli.
  • Choose the Saute function and stir constantly until the sauce thickens and the broccoli is tender, about 3 to 5 minutes. Serve over rice and top with fresh green onions.
