Effortlessly cook a seasoned frozen turkey in the Instant Pot with a flavorful gravy of apples, onions, and broth thickened with Wondra flour for a delicious Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 apple, cut into chunks
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (.87 ounce) package turkey gravy mix
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (3 pound) frozen boneless turkey breast (such as Butterball®)
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup quick-mixing flour (such as Wondra®)
Instructions:
  • To start, heat up your multi-cooker on the Saute function. Melt some butter in the pot, then cook onion, apple, and celery until slightly translucent, which should take around 5 minutes. Pour in the broth, deglaze the bottom of the pot, and whisk in the gravy mix until dissolved.
  • In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, thyme, rosemary, black pepper, sage, and garlic powder. Massage the mixture onto the turkey breast.
  • Gently place a trivet into the pot, then lay the seasoned turkey on top. Seal the lid securely and select high pressure following the manufacturer's guidelines. Set the timer for 50 minutes and patiently wait for the pressure to build for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions to naturally release pressure for 10 to 40 minutes.
  • Gradually blend water and quick-mixing flour in a bowl until the slurry is smooth.
  • Release the lid and remove the turkey to a plate. Strain the liquid from the pot, then pour it back in. Switch to Saute mode and bring to a boil. Gradually stir in the slurry until the gravy reaches your desired thickness. Slice the turkey and serve with the rich gravy.
