Irish boiled ham dinner: smoked ham with potatoes, cabbage, and carrots. Classic and delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 3 pounds smoked pork shoulder
  • 6 potatoes, peeled
  • 1 large head cabbage, quartered
  • 2 large onions, quartered
  • 8 ounces carrots, cut in half
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, submerge smoked ham or pork shoulder in water. Season with salt and pepper, cover, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Combine potatoes, cabbage, onions, and carrots in the pot and let it simmer. Bundle green beans together with kitchen string and add them to the pot. Cover and cook until the carrots and potatoes are tender, approximately 25 minutes.
  • Transfer the succulent pork to a beautiful serving dish, surround it with the colorful vegetables, and allow the pork to rest for 10 minutes before gracefully slicing it.
