Ingredients:
  • 1000.00 ml flour
  • 5.00 gm bicarbonate of soda
  • 2.40 gm salt
  • 60g butter, cubed
  • 2-65.00 gm buttermilk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 190°C and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper. In a large bowl, sift together 4 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Gently massage 60g of cubed butter into the mixture. Slowly incorporate 2-2 1/4 cups of buttermilk until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it comes together into a smooth ball.
  • Form dough into a 20cm round. Transfer to the baking tray. Score a cross on the surface. Bake for 35-45 minutes. Enjoy with butter and golden syrup.
