Whip up authentic Irish soda bread with tangy buttermilk for a delicious St. Patrick's Day treat.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C) and generously grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda. In a separate bowl, combine egg and buttermilk, then add them all at once to the flour mixture and stir until just moistened. Gently fold in the butter and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 65-70 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
