Classic anise cookies with aromatic oil and delicate icing - a festive delight.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon anise oil
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar, or more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons milk, or more as needed
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, whisk eggs until smooth. Gradually mix in white sugar until well combined. Slowly combine vegetable oil and anise oil into the sugar mixture. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder, then slowly add to the sugar mixture. Stir well with a wooden spoon until dough forms. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
  • Shape dough into walnut-sized balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until the cookies have crisp edges. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.
  • Combine confectioners' sugar and milk until you reach your preferred consistency. Drizzle the icing over the cookies by dipping a fork into it. Let the icing set until hardened.
