Perfect Italiano's Italian Meat Lover's Pizza: a meaty masterpiece.
Ingredients:
  • 1 Italian-style sausage, coarsely chopped
  • 70g (1/4 cup) tomato paste
  • 150g (1 1/2 cups) Pizza Plus cheese
  • 40g (about 12 slices) sliced pepperoni
  • 170g marinated capsicum, drained, cut into thin strips
  • 4 Swiss brown mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small handful of fresh continental parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) lukewarm water
  • 7g sachet dry yeast
  • 5.00 gm caster sugar
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 225g (1 1/2 cups) pizza flour
  • 36.40 gm olive oil, plus extra for brushing
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 250°C (230°C fan-forced).
  • Prepare the dough by mixing water, yeast, sugar, and salt in a jug. Whisk the mixture with a fork and cover it with cling wrap. Let it rest in a warm place for 5 minutes or until bubbles form on the surface.
  • Sift flour into a bowl, then mix in the yeast mixture and oil to form a dough. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until elastic. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough with your fist, knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, then roll into a 30cm round and place on lined baking tray.
  • Warm the oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat, then add the diced sausage. Sauté and stir occasionally for 5 minutes until golden brown. Set aside.
  • Cover the pizza base with the tomato paste. Evenly spread 3/4 of the Perfect Italiano™ Pizza Plus cheese. Add the sausage, pepperoni, capsicum, and mushroom. Sprinkle the remaining Pizza Plus cheese on top. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the base is crispy. Serve with a sprinkle of parsley.
