Cheesy mozzarella-filled Italian meatloaf - a family favorite for dinner!
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, divided
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, divided
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Combine beef, onion, half of the tomato sauce, bread crumbs, egg, garlic, half teaspoon oregano, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Shape into a 1/2-inch-thick rectangle on waxed paper. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Begin by gently lifting up one of the short sides of the waxed paper to elegantly commence rolling the flavorful meatloaf. Roll it tightly, skillfully peeling back the paper as you go. Secure the edges in a graceful manner. Finally, transfer the beautifully rolled meatloaf to a loaf pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven. Mix leftover tomato sauce with 1/2 teaspoon oregano, then pour over meatloaf and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Continue baking until cheese melts, approximately 15 minutes. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
