Make a savory Italian sausage skillet with mushrooms, red onion, and bell peppers for a tasty and easy meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 3/4 cup sliced fresh mushrooms (2 ounces)
  • 1/2 large red onion, cut into 1/8-inch slices
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
Instructions:
  • Brown the sausage in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through; then drain any excess fat.
  • Add mushrooms and onion to the mixture, gently lower the heat, cover, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, giving it a stir every so often, until the vegetables are tender. Once they are ready, mix in the bell pepper, cover, and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the bell pepper reaches the desired crisp-tenderness.
