Strawberry trifle with angel food cake and creamy mascarpone cheese in a stunning display.
Ingredients:
  • 1 quart ripe strawberries, sliced
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar, or to taste
  • 1 (8 ounce) container mascarpone cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®), thawed
  • 1 (10 inch) prepared angel food cake, torn into bite-size pieces
Instructions:
  • Reserve a few strawberry slices for decoration. Sprinkle the rest of the strawberries with sugar in a bowl and allow them to sit for 10 minutes until they release their juices.
  • In a separate bowl, combine mascarpone cheese and whipped topping. Layer torn pieces of angel food cake in a trifle dish, top with strawberries and their juice, then add the mascarpone mixture. Garnish with reserved strawberry slices. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
