Indulge in hot, homemade strawberry-filled doughnuts.
Ingredients:
  • 490g (3 1/4 cups) plain flour
  • 55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar
  • 3 tsp dried yeast
  • Pinch of salt
  • 250ml (1 cup) milk, warmed
  • 100g butter, melted
  • 3 egg yolks
  • Canola oil, to deep-fry
  • 284g St. Dalfour Strawberry jam
  • Icing sugar, to dust
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Create a well in the center and stir in milk, butter, and egg until a sticky dough forms.
  • Knead dough on floured surface until smooth. Transfer to greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.
  • Gently deflate the dough, knead on a lightly floured surface for 2 minutes until smooth, roll out to 1cm thickness, and let rest for 2 minutes.
  • Roll out the batter and use a 7cm round cutter to cut out discs without removing the centers. Place the discs on a lined baking tray and let them sit for 30 minutes to prove.
  • Fry until both sides are golden and puffed, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  • Fill a piping bag, fitted with a 5mm nozzle, with a 284g jar of St. Dalfour Strawberry Jam. Inject the jam into the doughnuts from the side. Sprinkle with icing sugar for the finishing touch.
