Sausage roll maker jam doughnuts recipe

Easy fluffy cinnamon doughnuts made in a Kmart sausage roll maker, served with jam and cream.
Ingredients:
  • 190g (1 1/4 cups) plain flour
  • 110g (1/2 cup) caster sugar, plus 55g (1/4 cup) extra, to sprinkle
  • 100g butter, melted, cooled, plus 25g extra to brush
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) milk
  • 1.25 gm cinnamon
  • Strawberry jam, to serve
  • Whipped cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • Whisk together flour and sugar in a bowl. Create a well in the center and add butter, milk, and egg. Whisk until combined.
  • Pour half of the batter into the sausage roll maker compartments. Cook for 10 minutes until done. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with the rest of the batter and let it cool completely.
  • Cut each "doughnut" lengthwise without cutting all the way through, then brush with additional melted butter.
  • In a bowl, mix the additional sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle the mixture over the doughnuts, then fill with jam and cream using a piping bag or spoon. Serve and enjoy!
