Top homemade pastry circles with your favorite jam for fun and easy jam tarts, perfect for baking with kids!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 cup jam
Instructions:
  • Pulse flour, shortening, sugar, and salt in a food processor until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Pour in water and pulse until a dough ball forms. Chill pastry in the fridge until firm, at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and generously grease 24 muffin cups.
  • Roll out the pastry into thin sheets, then use a cookie cutter to create rounds. Gently place each pastry round in a muffin cup and fill each cup with 2 teaspoons of jam.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Allow the tarts to cool on a wire rack.
