Try these jicama hash browns O'Brien for a twist on the classic dish. Customize with bacon or a runny egg on top.
Ingredients:
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 0.33333334326744 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 0.33333334326744 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 large jicama, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté onion, red and green bell peppers for 2 minutes in oil. Add jicama, hot pepper sauce, garlic powder, parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until jicama is evenly coated.
  • Sear vegetables in the skillet without moving for 5 minutes. Flip and continue cooking undisturbed for another 5 minutes. Flip once more and cook until desired crispness, around 3 more minutes.
