Total Time:
Easy Southwest egg, sausage, Cheddar, and salsa tarts - ideal for brunch or as tasty party bites.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package Regular Flavor Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage, cooked, crumbled and drained
  • 2 (15 ounce) packages refrigerated pie crusts
  • 2 cups chunky-style salsa, drained
  • 6 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Unwrap the piecrusts and roll them out slightly thinner than their original thickness. Use a 4-inch cookie cutter to cut out circles of crust. Gently press each circle into the bottom and up the sides of ungreased muffin cup baking pans; the crust may not reach the top of the tin. Re-roll any dough scraps as needed to make more dough circles.
  • Mix well the cooked sausage with the remaining ingredients. Fill each crust about 3/4 full with the mixture.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
