Delicious crab leg boil with shrimp, red potatoes, sausage, corn, and carrots simmered in flavorful broth for a perfect backyard feast.
Ingredients:
  • 6 quarts water, and more as needed
  • 0.25 cup seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
  • 1 pound small red potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®), or to taste
  • 2 pounds king crab legs
  • 2 cups chopped carrots
  • 1.5 cups chopped celery
  • 12 pearl onions
  • 1 pound spicy sausage links, cut into rounds
  • 4 ears corn, husked
  • 2 pounds unpeeled shrimp
Instructions:
  • Before you begin, collect all the necessary ingredients. Then, in a large stewing pot, bring 6 quarts of water to a boil and stir in 1/4 cup of seafood seasoning.
  • Simmer potatoes in flavorful boiling water for 15 minutes.
  • While you are waiting, get another large pot and bring water to a boil; then, stir in 1 teaspoon of seafood seasoning. Cook crab legs in the seasoned boiling water until the meat is tender, approximately 10 minutes. Drain the crab legs before serving.
  • Combine the vibrant trio of carrots, celery, and onions with the potatoes, allowing them to meld together perfectly until the vegetables reach a tender perfection, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Introduce the savory sausage and sweet corn into the pot, allowing them to mingle and enhance the flavors while simmering for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Combine succulent shrimp and tender cooked crab legs. Sauté until the shrimp turn vibrant pink and the meat is fully opaque, approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
