Flavorful salmon patties with dill, onion, and basil - perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (14.75 ounce) cans salmon, drained and bones removed
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons dill weed
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons shortening (such as Crisco®)
Instructions:
  • Combine salmon, bread crumbs, onion, eggs, flour, dill, basil, garlic salt, and onion powder in a bowl and shape the mixture into 5 large patties.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for optimal baking temperature.
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, melt the shortening. Fry the patties until golden brown on each side, about 6 to 8 minutes. Then, transfer the patties to a baking dish.
  • Continue to bake the patties in the oven that has been preheated until they are fully cooked, approximately another 20 minutes.
