Lemon Basil Pesto Flat Iron Steak

Elevate steaks with zesty lemon-basil pesto topping.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups packed fresh basil leaves
  • 0.33333334326744 cup pine nuts
  • 0.5 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 6 (6 ounce) flat iron steaks
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Mince garlic cloves in a food processor. Add basil and pine nuts, pulse to combine. While processor runs, gradually pour olive oil, pausing to scrape sides. Add Parmesan, lemon juice, and red pepper, pulse to blend. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat up your outdoor grill until it reaches medium-high temperature, and lightly grease the grate with oil.
  • Massage the steaks with minced garlic and generously season with salt and pepper.
  • Grill steaks on the preheated grill for about 4 minutes per side until medium doneness, basting them with a touch of pesto sauce. Serve steaks topped with the rest of the pesto for a burst of flavor.
