Limoncello-infused lemon bars for a sophisticated twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar plus additional as desired for sprinkling
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel, if desired
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Limoncello
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Combine flour, butter, and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar in a medium bowl using a spoon. Press the mixture into an ungreased 8- or 9-inch square pan, shaping it with 1/2-inch edges.
  • Bake for 20 minutes. In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer on high speed to beat all ingredients except additional powdered sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy. Pour over the hot crust.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the center is firm to the touch. Let cool in the pan for about an hour. Dust with powdered sugar and cut into bars in a 5 by 5 grid.
