Homemade Limoncello: Infuse lemon zest in vodka with simple syrup for a zesty Italian liqueur.
Ingredients:
  • 10 lemons
  • 1 liter vodka
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 4 cups water
Instructions:
  • Assemble all your ingredients.
  • Grate the lemons to extract the zest and transfer it to a spacious glass bottle or jar.
  • Pour the vodka into the bottle, cover loosely, and allow it to infuse at room temperature for 1 week.
  • After a week, in a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil without stirring. Boil for 15 minutes, then remove from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  • Incorporate the vodka mixture into the syrup.
  • Transfer the mixture into glass bottles and close them with corks. Allow it to mature at room temperature for 2 weeks.
  • Freeze bottled limoncello until icy cold, then serve in chilled vodka glasses or shot glasses.
