Elevate boxed potatoes with your own personal twist for a loaded and flavorful dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (4.7 oz) Betty Crocker™ au gratin potatoes
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (4 oz)
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions (4 medium)
  • 1/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ plain bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  • Combine Potatoes, Sauce Mix, boiling water, half-and-half, and butter in a 2-quart casserole dish. Mix well, then fold in the remaining potato ingredients. Bake uncovered for 35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Combine bread crumbs and butter in a bowl, then sprinkle the mixture over the top. Bake for an additional 8 minutes or until the topping turns golden. Finish by sprinkling with parsley and allowing it to stand for 5 minutes before serving to let the sauce thicken.
